Geneva Auto Salon 2016

I'm writing this in part because having skipped Geneva the last couple years I need to remind myself that it's always worth a visit, even if there doesn't appear to be many significant debuts.

Times have been tough for conventional motor shows over the last twenty odd years but as is the case with such things the survivors have, if anything, got stronger – and thus it has been with Geneva: it is both the major annual European show and on neutral ground. The latter, along with the fact it's relatively compact, mean that not only is there plenty to see without having to rack up the miles of some of the other shows *cough*Frankfurt*cough* . The former means there's no home team favouritism and as well as a raft of new production & concepts debuts, a few of the Detroit & Tokyo concepts usually make the trip.

With sufficient planning, it needn't break the bank either: Geneva is an Easyjet hub & the venue is literally a ten minute walk from the airport.
